Education and Training Opportunities

In an effort to support our gender expansive community and educate our campus community, SDSU offers various training opportunities and educational courses for students, faculty and staff.

Campus Training and Education Opportunities

SafeZones is dedicated to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for all 2SLGBTQIA+ members of the campus community by providing an allyship training program led by The Pride Center at SDSU.
Pride House is a collaborative peer mentorship program for first-year undergraduate students designed to foster community, enhance education, and support matriculation for 2SLGBTQIA+ students and their allies. Pride House is facilitated through The Pride Center at SDSU, in collaboration with LGBTQ+ Studies and Housing and Residential Education. All are welcome.
For students interested in furthering their academic studies around the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, the LGBTQ+ Studies program offers courses of study for undergraduate and graduate students through an LGBTQ+ Studies majorminor, and graduate certificate.
Gender-inclusive housing is an option for first and second year undergraduate students in which two or more students share a room and community bathrooms regardless of their gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation. It is a housing option that broadens students' choices and helps ensure living arrangements that are welcoming and inclusive for all members of our community.

To apply for gender-inclusive housing, select the "Gender-Inclusive" option on the license agreement in the Housing Portal.

Faculty and Staff Onboarding Training

SDSU’s Center for Human Resources and Center for Inclusive Excellence have collaborated to integrate gender-inclusive language and lived name policies into SDSU employee onboarding training. For more information, please contact the Center for Human Resources by emailing [email protected]
For students interested in furthering their academic studies by exploring all forms of social and ecological justice through intersectional/Women of Color and transnational feminist, queer, and trans lenses, and bridging theory and practice while working toward liberation, visit the WGSS website to learn more about course offerings. All are welcome.
